Mission: We are on a mission to plant 50,000 trees in Nigeria before 2048
THE PROBLEM
Tress have furnished us with two of life’s essentials, food and oxygen. As we evolved, they provided additional necessities such as shelter and medicine. Today, their value continues to increase and more benefits of trees are being discovered as their role expands to satisfy the needs created by our modern lifestyles.
However, more than ever before, the rate of deforestation has been alarming, it has turned once vibrant areas and vegetation into desolate and barren lands. The results of this is that incidences of food insecurity, land degradation, and climate change proliferate.
OUR SOLUTION
OUR BIG AUDACIOUS GOAL
The Big Audacious Goal(BAG) is to plant 50000 trees in Nigeria by 2048.
If we can grow a movement by getting a large number of people to plant 50,000 trees before 2048, we can, first and foremost, reverse deforestation and sustainably begin to mitigate it.
Why TreeVolution?
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
Eco Kids Klub is a Children’s Forum with the aim of raising a new generation of eco conscious children in schools through classroom learnings and after school activities. Children are the future, the young of today will be our country’s decision-makers, consumers and social contributors in years to come. Investing in their education will not only improve their lives, but it will also improve all of ours.
At Eco Kids Klub, with a well-tailored Lesson Plan and activities, we seek to help children understand “sustainability” from an abstract word into an actionable word.
Climate Awareness March is a yearly Climate sensitization walk, where Ecowarriors gather with other Environmental Organizations to walk the streets of Nigeria, one community at a time. The awareness March aims to sensitize people about climate change and the need for urgent actions. The goal is to change the mind of the people, and our elected leaders to act now to address the Climate Crisis the World is currently facing.
